Cannabis Stocks – The group is back on watch this morning trading sharply higher in the premarket after Democrat Raphael Warnock won the first of two Senate runoff elections in Georgia, the second between Democrat Jon Ossoff and Republican David Perdue is still too close to call. FuboTV – Evercore ISI analysts raised their PT on the stock to $32 from $25, the company also updated its current quarter guidance higher saying it expects to beat prior Q4 expectations.
Tesla Inc – Back in fresh record high territory in the premarket after Morgan Stanley increased its PT on the stock to $810 from $540. Barclays and Independent Research meanwhile are also both out this morning with PT increases as well. The company also said its new Texas Gigafactory originally planned for the Cybertruck which is going on sale in 2021, has been expanded for production use for the Model Y which was launched in 2020. Now reports have also emerged that construction for the site is being amped up again with a giant building in the works and new job posting. Reports are also suggesting the company will continue buying batteries from longtime supplier Panasonic until at least 2022 despite the EV maker’s plans to produce its own cheaper alternative.
Big Tech – Shares of Apple, Microsoft, Google’s parent Alphabet and Facebook Inc are all down more than 2% in the premarket. With Democrats on the brink of winning control of the U.S. Senate as a result of favorable outcomes in the Georgia runoff elections, the shift could result in a relatively clear path for President-elect Joe Biden to execute on his policy aims. Alibaba Group Holdings – Trading lower again this morning after the company announced plans to raise up to $8bn in a bond sale. Alibaba said it will tap international debt markets for as much as $8bn this month in what could be one of the country’s biggest ever dollar bond sales.
Clean Energy – This group is also strong in the premarket trading up between 3-7% this morning on the possibility of a Democrat controlled Senate. US President-Elect Joe Biden made multiple promises during his campaign to focus more on renewable fuels and the clean energy space and less on fossil fuels. IsoRay Inc – US based micro-cap biotech company up more than 200% premarket after the FDA gave clearance for the company’s C4 Imagining technology for use as a treatment for a specific type of prostate cancer.
BioNano Genomics Inc – Lower in the premarket for the second straight session, actively traded with no significant news again, the stock held higher after failing yesterday to test lower prices.
