Bed Bath and Beyond Inc – Shares are sharply lower in the premarket after the company reported disappointing Q3 results and also did not provide a forward guidance. The home decor and furnishing retailer said missed Q3 profit by 11 cents and revenue by about $150 mln for the key holiday quarter. Comparable store sales meanwhile rose 2% also missing forecasts of 4.49%, even as digital sales surged. The company also reported a net loss, hurt by restructuring and transformation initiatives charges.
Tesla Inc – Back in all-time territory this morning another batch of analyst upgrades for the stock, both Fitch Ratings and RBC Capital Markets increased their views on the shares, RBC to “sector perform” from “underperform”; raises PT to $700 from $339. RBC sais “we got TSLA’s stock completely wrong” and believes that stock price is likely to be advantageous to the carmaker as it can raise capital inexpensively to fund growth and possible acquisitions. Separately, Fitch Ratings says the pricing of Model Y in China could boost Chinese consumers’ demand for electric vehicles in 2021 at the expense of traditional SUVs.
Cannabis Stocks – Looking to extend Wednesday’s rally, with both Georgia Senate runoff election seats going to the Democrats Joe Biden’s administration will have control of both the House and Senate for the first time in 6 years but the Democrats will have to work with Republicans to pass any major legislation as their majority will be razor thin. Plug Power Inc – Higher in the premarket after announcing it has reached an agreement with SK Group that will see it make a $1.5 billion strategic investment and form a joint venture company in South Korea. The hydrogen fuel cell maker said the investment will represent a roughly 10% stake in the company.
Roku Inc – Trading higher for the third straight session this morning after Needham raised its PT to $400 from $315, saying ROKU continues to lead the streaming wars in the U.S. with its strong platform advantages and the company stands to benefit from hyper growth of its platform, which will drive advertising growth in 2021, as the economy recovers.
Quantumscape Corp. – Back on watch this morning trading up more than 10% in the premarket, the stock fell more than 40% Monday on news of an offering and updated guidance from the solid-state battery maker. Most analysts continue to look at solid-state lithium-ion batteries are kind of a holy-grail technology, promising to give electric vehicles longer range and shorter recharging times while being safer and more durable than current battery options.
Blockchain Stocks – The group continues to benefit from Bitcoins record run, BTC is back in all-time territory this morning so these stocks will be active during today’s session. Marathon Patent Group has reached a total market value of $1 billion Wednesday its highest level in more than three years, over $17. Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc – Shares of drugstore chain are higher this morning after it reported adj EPS of $1.22 for Q1, above Street est. of $1.03, helped by improved sales at its pharmacy retail stores and higher prescription volumes. WBA reported a net loss attributable of 36 cents/share, compared with earnings of 95 cents, due to a $1.5 billion charge from its equity earnings in AmerisourceBergen.
SOS Ltd – Chinese based, micro-cap consumer credit operator is trading sharply higher this morning on little news. The company announced it has hired Dr. Huazhong (Eric) Yan a renowned cryptocurrencies security expert to spearhead SOSs effort to expand into digital assets security industry.
Future Fintech Group – The company announced earlier in the week it signed a term sheet with Blocknance for a potential acquisition of 60% of Blocknance a cryptocurrency trading platform.
Oragenics Inc – Announced entering into a material transfer agreement with Adjuvance Technologies Inc. for use of the adjuvant TQL1055 in the Company’s Terra CoV-2 vaccine against COVID-19.
